Another Nigerian drug lord arrested by SA police

Another Nigeria drug kingpin has been arrested in South Africa for running a laboratory manufacturing illegal drugs.

Nigerian drug baron identified only as Chukwudi has been arrested by the South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB), after being on the run for some months.

According to information released by SANEB, Chukwudi was the head of a drug cartel and ran a drug laboratory in Pomona, a suburb of Kempton Park in Gauteng, where Crystal Methamphetamine, a highly addictive drug, are produced.
The statement added that Chukwudi had been on the run December 2016 after the police identified the laboratory, and had initially asked to hand himself over after he was linked to illegal drug factory.
The Narcotics police say the 45-year-old suspect who is said to be one of the most dangerous drug kingpins in the country, was arrested during a sting operation where drugs, chemicals and drug manufacturing equipment estimated to be around R3 million, were recovered from him in his hideout.
He was charged at the Benoni Magistrates’ Court on Friday, February 3, 2017, under the Drugs and Drug Trafficking of Act 140 of 1992 and is currently in detention without a bond.
